Local Dimming Technology Sony’s unique Local Dimming Technology provides precise control over LED lighting sources for backlights in both light and dark areas. This technology allows for independent activation (ON) and deactivation (OFF) of LED lighting sources for each specific area, enabling to redistribute saved power from dark areas to boost the brightness of bright areas. The outcome is exceptional performance for HDR content, providing more natural images for an immersive viewing experience. Wide, accurate colour reproduction The display’s advanced LCD panel and signal processing technology support highly consistent, accurate reproduction of a wide colour gamut. This complies with ITU-R Recommendation BT.2020 that represents a significantly wider gamut than the BT.709 colour space, allowing superior colour reproduction and more realistic visualisation.
