SP FTS Bio-Cool Controlled Rate Freezer The BioCool Controlled Rate Freezers are mechanically refrigerated 1.5 liter liquid baths which can be used to freeze a wide variety of biological materials including embryos, tissue, and blood. A robust controller provides accurate temperature control with up to ten-point calibration and user-specified ramp control with up to ten distinct segments. Built-in magnetic stirrer and vortex breaker ensure isothermal bath conditions throughout the user-specified temperature range. Utilizing a liquid medium, the BioCool handles heat loads substantially larger than its liquid nitrogen counterparts and does not utilize expendable refrigerant. All that is needed is a small dewar of liquid nitrogen for tissue crystallization and for ultimate storage. A selection of container holder racks are also available.
