Gating/Triggering Solutions for MouseOx® Plus
The photoplethysmograph waveform output by the MouseOx Plus can be used to generate cardiac trigger signals when used as an input to the BIOPAC DTU200 Dual Channel Gating System.
When combined with a BIOPAC respiration transducer and our MRI Sensor, gated trigger signals can be created for use in timing MRI image acquisitions. Respiratory/pulse gated trigger signals can be used to time MRI scans at the desired phase of each cardiac and respiratory cycle allowing for reduction or elimination of motion artifact.
Dials on the DTU200 allow adjustment of trigger levels and conditioning of the input signals. Both input channels can be amplified up to 10X, low pass filtered (cardiac 10-100 Hz; respiratory 1-10 Hz) and high pass filtered (cardiac 0.1-1 Hz; respiratory 0.05-0.5 Hz).
Raw and conditioned analog input signals and the corresponding trigger signals can be monitored and recorded in real-time using the BIOPAC MP150 Data Acquisition system.
