The ANY-maze animal scales allow you to integrate the weighing of animals into your experiments.
Based on settings you specify in the protocol (see Note 1), ANY-maze will prompt you to place an animal on the scales before a test; when you do this, it will weigh the animal and record the result. ANY-maze can also optionally calculate an animal’s treatment dose based on its weight (see note 2).
The ANY-maze animal scales are supported in version 6.10 of ANY-maze and above.
Scales connect to your computer via a USB adaptor (supplied).
• ANY-maze controls when animals will be weighed, manages the weighing process and stores the result.
• The animal’s weight is averaged over a period of a few seconds to allow for the fact that it will probably be moving.
• Scales automatically switch on when ANY-maze is started and switch off when you exit the program.
• Can weigh animals up to 2.2Kg
• Accurate to ±0.1g
• Robust design includes integrated overload protection to 22Kg
1. ANY-maze can be set to weigh animals in one or more stages of your experiment:
• Before any tests are performed in the stage
• Before an animal’s first test in the stage.
• Before every test in the stage.
ANY-maze can also be set to require that an animal is weighed before it can be tested.
2. ANY-maze can calculate an animal’s treatment dose at any of the points at which the animal is weighed. Dose can be reported as mass (mg) or volume (ml) to administer.
3. Although these scales are commercially available, they have to be programmed to work with ANY-maze. Therefore only scales supplied by Stoelting Co., or one of its dealers or affiliates, will function with ANY-maze.
