The Metzenbaum Supercut Curve is a close-cut shear and dissection intended for more delicate surgical procedures in thinner tissues, compared to the Mayo scissors. The curved structure allows deeper penetration into the surgical field and allows better visibility of the areas to dissect.
The supercut version has one blade with a sharp edge and the other with a micro-serrated edge, which prevents the tissues from sliding during cutting. This increases control and precision of the cut, reduces the trauma of surrounding tissues and manual fatigue.
