Its principal use is to provide an atraumatic way to pull back the muscles of the back and expose the spine. For this purpose, the instrument features 3 x 4 sharp or blunt prongs that curve outwards to ensure exceptional sightlines. In addition, the hinged shanks permit to perform multiple surgical approaches. Moreover, the Adson (Cone) Self Retaining Retractor features a ratchet system to self-retain the jaws at specific widths. Also, the ring handles are ergonomically designed to minimize the risk of slippage and finger strain. Manufactured in premium grade stainless steel with a fine satin finish that reduces glare.
