The selective liquid medium is enriched with a mixture of 5-fluorouracil and rifampicin. The active substances act to remove contamination of innoculated leptospira strains.
Brief assay procedure:
Transfer the contaminated culture with a Pasteur pipette to the medicated medium, dispense 300-500 µl and perform a microscopic examination after 48 hours. At this time, the bacterial infection should be suppressed, re-inoculate into the growth medium. For better growth, we recommend repeating the inoculation into the growth medium after 7 days.
Note:
Only cultures with a sufficient amount of leptospira (growth to at least ++) are suitable for healing. If the contamination is massive and there is not enough leptospira, the culture can only be cleared. However, strain growth remains small, unsuitable for MAL or re-innoculation.
Packaging:
20 tubes with 3 ml of media each.
Storage and expiration:
Store in a dry place at a temperature of +2 to + 8 ° C. Subject to these conditions, the expiration date is 12 months from the date of manufacture
