The Transseptal Trainer is a detailed heart as seen from its patent chambers and great vessel lumens, but is visible from an exterior view as well. We have contained the heart interior within a clear cylinder and minimized lumen surface detail to control refraction and reflection, allowing you to view and train within the heart cavities. Designed for catheter based access through the IVC and into the right atrium, there is a puncturable and replaceable atrial septum that provides access to the left atrium. (SVC approaches may also be adapted.) Once in the left atrium, the pulmonary veins are each visible and color-coded for orientation.
Training transcatheter approaches for ablation of the pulmonary veins to treat atrial fibrillation (without energy application) is possible within this accurate geometry derived from patient CT datasets. Ports are provided for scope access. The anatomy may be repositioned on its base for optimal visualization. Containing the heart chamber anatomy within this format for transcatheter procedures is a new development and one we feel can have many applications for development and training. Please discuss your custom needs and applications with us.
