Description

For laparoscopic or robotic repair of ureteral stenosis at the UPJ. The Pyeloplasty Trainer presents a boggy renal pelvis with significant stenosis of the ureter due to overlying artery and vein pressure. All of this delicate, suturable anatomy is encased in surrounding tissue that must be dissected off to reveal the buried structures. Once freed, the ureter can be transected, repositioned, and re-anastomosed to the renal pelvis. This anatomy is then removed and the Pyeloplasty Trainer Replacement (#7002) secured in its place for the next training. Adjustable support allows for precise angle change. The entire trainer can be used within a standard laparoscopic training box. Developed with Dr. Peter Schulam and colleagues at the UCLA Medical Center.
