Description

Special coated separator for optimal urine and feces separation Maximum purity of samples Collection and quantification in standard centrifuge vessels Special floor design and resting platform High-speed freezing unit Special gas sensors (H2, CH4, VOC) The Metabolic PhenoCage special separates, collects and quantifies urine and feces of mice or rats and provides important information about the animal’s energy balance. Dedicated urine and feces collection funnels direct urine and feces into standard lab tubes. Weighing sensors quantify urine and feces by amount and time. An optional high-speed freezing unit conserves the samples for later analysis. The Metabolic PhenoCage is part of the PhenoMaster family and can thus be equipped with various modules such as the infrared light-beam frame (ActiMot3) to monitor locomotor activity. Air-tight versions of the Metabolic PhenoCage together with high-speed freezing units allow indirect gas calorimetry (CaloSys). Featuring autoclavable components are easy to assemble, maintain, disassemble and clean. Thus, the Metabolic PhenoCage is a multi-talent to investigate various different metabolic and behavioral parameters at the same time.
