The Delta-maze is a custom modification of the T-maze, a special design made possible by the extreme adaptability of our MultiMaze system 41500. The newest scientific research approaches, based on the available current technologies, often combine different methods in the same test in order to obtain more detailed and more interesting data. As an example, more and more often scientists need to measure EEG or use Optogenetics techniques during behavioral tests. The idea behind the design of the Delta-Maze was to find a way to avoid handling the implanted animals during a standard T-Maze test; our multi-maze set-up was used, as its proprietary system of doors sliding underneath the floor, eliminates any hindrance to animals moving around even when connected to an optogenetics set-up and facilitates Videotracking. The automated sliding doors and the two return arms enable the cabled animal, after making its choice in the T-maze, to come back to the Starting Box without any external interference.
