SETTING THE STANDARD FOR TRANS-SEPTAL MITRAL VALVE REPAIR
AMEND mitral repair implant is an innovative D-shaped ring with unique anchoring capabilities that emulates the current gold-standard annuloplasty rings used in open-heart surgery. It is delivered into the mitral annulus in a transcatheter transeptal procedure. The implant emerges from the catheter in a linear form and transforms into a closed D-shape ring, in the heart’s left atrium.
Valcare’s mitral valve repair solution is based on a semi-rigid, annuloplasty ring similar to those used in open-heart surgery
Maintains the native valve anatomy and function
Allows for anterior-posterior reduction during a beating-heart procedure
SIMPLER, SHORTER PROCEDURE
The AMEND ring is implanted in a much shorter and simpler procedure than other minimally-invasive annuloplasty solutions thanks to Valcare’s patented anchoring system that attaches to the annulus in four different zones.
During the implantation procedure, the anterior-posterior dimension is reduced to improve leaflet coaptation, thus significantly reducing, and potentially eliminating, mitral regurgitation.
AMEND BENEFITS
Durable anchoring mechanism that maintains the valve’s structural integrity and delivers long-term performance
Universal ring design that is compatible with various delivery approaches such as transseptal, transatrial and transapical
Short procedure time facilitated by ease of use and unique anchoring system
Good tissue ingrowth around and within the implant, allowing for faster endothelization
