Rapid-VIDITEST tests are one step immunochromatographic assays for qualitative detection of viruses and bacteria which cause respiratory infections.
Quick detection of Streptococcus A (5. pyogenes) in throat swab specimens in cases
of presumptive streptococcus infection
Disease: streptococcal tonsillitis/pharyngitis, scarlet fever, dermatitis
Transfer of infection: person-to-person transmission, droplet route
Risk group: the highest incidence in children between 6 - 16 years (school-age)
Incubation period: 2-5 days
Clinical symptoms: fever, sore throat, enlarged or hyperaemic tonsils, enlarged or tender angular lymph nodes, skin rash and strawberry-like appearance of the tongue in case of scarlet fever, swollen submandibular glands
