Details
VNFOR Viral Nucleic Acid Transport Medium is specifically designed to efficiently purify viral DNA and viral RNA from cell-free samples such as serum, plasma, body fluids, and supernatant of virally infected cell cultures. The prepared nucleic acids are suitable for applications such as RT-PCR.
The sensitivity of many laboratory applications is highly dependent on the proper collection and transportation of samples. VNFOR Viral Nucleic Acid Transport Medium is a sampling and transportation buffer designed for this purpose. VNFOR Viral Nucleic Acid Transport Medium consists of two parts, a sterile Dacron swab in a plastic package for sample collection and a sterile transport medium in a crack-resistant, leak-proof plastic tube. The sample linked with the Dacron swab is placed in the transport medium.
Since VNFOR performs purification during sample transfer, there is no need for an extra nucleic acid extraction process for the received samples. Thus, the samples can be used directly for applications such as RT-PCR. In addition, it protects the purified sample during transport. This eliminates the need for repeat sample collection. The samples are prevented from contamination thanks to the antimicrobial agents.
