INTENDED USE
The Dr.Rappeler R1 Analyzer is designed for the quantitative measurement of:
1) Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) enzyme activity and hemoglobin (Hb) concentration using electrochemical and optical methods, enabling the evaluation of the G6PD/Hb ratio in both capillary and venous blood.
2) Vitamin C (Vit-C) in capillary and venous blood, or plasma using an optical method.
Healthcare professionals can use this analyzer to conduct G6PD deficiency tests before prescribing a vitamin C megadose injection to prevent severe side effects such as hemolytic anemia and to monitor the concentration of vitamin C in the patient's blood to estimate the therapeutic effect of the treatment.
