Creating more time to focus on patient care
The WestCall LPS is a Real Time Location System (RTLS) that uses ultrasound and IR/RF technology to help staff keep track of moveable equipment and people. By reducing the amount of time wasted on searching for items and people, staff members gain valuable time to focus on patient care and other important tasks around the workplace.
The WestCall LPS provides the most dependable and accurate location information available in the market. It is also important to note that hospital equipment, metallic surfaces and sensitive hospital instruments will not be affected or interfere with the ultrasound waves associated with the WestCall LPS system. Heres how it works:
Tags attached to equipment and/or people transmit a unique identification signal when moving or at preset intervals.
Strategically mounted detectors "hear" the Tag signals and transmit them via an existing LAN to a central computer.
The tracking and location information is presented on the WestCall Novus Nurse Call System, tablet PC’s, PDAs and portable phones that are connected to the network.
The WestCall LPS is also more than just a time saver; it offers a wide range of financial and technical benefits for medical facilities as well as offering improvements to safety protocol. Facilities will see significant improvement in work flow, patient flow, job satisfaction and patient satisfaction. The WestCall LPS also helps improve patient safety and facility security through configurable alerts and notifications triggered by pre-defined events and through the identification of objects approaching pre-defined location perimeters.
