Designed by foot and ankle surgeons specifically for the unique challenges of
hindfoot arthrodesis, the VALOR™ Hindfoot Fusion System represents the latest and
most comprehensive system for achieving arthrodesis of the ankle and hindfoot. By
combining streamlined and reliable instrumentation with an array of anatomicallyaligned screw trajectories and an internal compression mechanism, the VALOR™
Hindfoot Fusion System seeks to simplify the arthrodesis procedure while providing
the optimal conditions for a successful fusion.
INDICATIONS
The VALOR™ Ankle Fusion Nail System is intended to facilitate tibiotalocalcaneal
arthrodesis to treat severe foot/ankle deformity, arthritis, instability, and skeletal
defects after tumor resection. These include Neuro-osteoarthropathy (Charcot’s Foot),
Avascular Necrosis of the talus, failed joint replacement, failed ankle fusion, distal tibia
fracture non-unions, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Pseudoarthrosis.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Patients should be warned of these contraindications:
» Infection
» Physiologically or psychologically inadequate patient
» Inadequate skin, bone, or neurovascular status
» Irreparable tendon system
» Possibility for conservative treatment
» Growing patients with open epiphyses
» Patients with high levels of activity
