ASP - Advanced Sterilization Products

Who we are

ON YOUR SIDE FOR LIFE'S MOST VULNERABLE MOMENTS

Every day, millions of people around the world visit a healthcare facility. The care and handling of instruments used to treat patients are vital to their health outcome and there is no room for error.

ASP is a leader in infection prevention, dedicated to creating the products, solutions, and processes needed by practitioners to protect patients during their most critical moments. We are committed to continuously advancing infection prevention technologies that healthcare depends upon.

Above all, we put the patient first.

ASP specializes in two main areas - Low-Temperature Sterilization and High-level Disinfection.

- Low-Temperature Sterilization

Low-temperature sterilization uses gaseous or chemical sterilants to sterilize medical devices and instruments at temperatures below 60°C (152°F).1 It is typically used in the reprocessing of temperature- and moisture-sensitive devices, which cannot be sterilized using more traditional methods such as steam autoclaves.

ASP’s sterilizers – STERRAD™ Systems with ALLClear™ Technology – combine the use of hydrogen peroxide and its low-temperature gas plasma to safely and rapidly sterilize a wide range of medical devices and materials, without leaving toxic residues.

STERRAD™ Systems, together with STERRAD VELOCITY™ and ASP ACCESS™, create a medical device reprocessing ecosystem that facilitates compliant and efficient sterile reprocessing of surgical instruments.

The fully integrated STERRAD VELOCITY™ Biological Indicator/ Process Challenge Device (BI/PCD) provides rapid sterility assurance, giving staff in the central sterile supply department the confidence that the STERRAD™ Sterilization Cycle has been effective. Through ASP ACCESS™ Technology, ASP devices can be connected to each other, users and hospital systems, allowing automatic communication, information-sharing, and record-keeping between devices, reducing the opportunity for human error.

- High-Level Disinfection

High-level disinfection refers to a reprocessing process that destroys all pathogenic microorganisms on medical devices and instruments, with the exception of small numbers of bacterial spores.1 According to the Spaulding Classification system, all semi-critical items, defined as those which are in contact with intact mucous membranes or non-intact skin, must undergo high-level disinfection when being reprocessed.1

ASP provides a compact automated high-level disinfection system, the ASP AEROFLEX™ Automated Endoscope Reprocessor*, which facilitates rapid endoscope reprocessing and accelerates workflow in the Central Sterilization Services Department (CSSD).2

ASP also offers a range of detergents, such as CIDEZYME™ and CIDEZYME™ XTRA Enzymatic Cleaners, which can be used for manual cleaning of medical devices and laboratory equipment.

CIDEX™ OPA Solution is a broad-spectrum, high-level disinfectant, that can be used to safely reprocess flexible endoscopes and other heat-sensitive medical devices.
