About Us

MSE, founded in 1936 by Dr Ernest Foulkes in the UK, started out with modest capital to manufacture machine tools in short supply. During the Second World War, it acted as a leasing agent for American machine tools.

After the war, MSE specialized in centrifuges and laboratory equipment, developing a solid international reputation.

In 1948, it was asked to create hospital microtomes for the NHS and centrifuges for the Atomic Energy Authority.

In the 1960s, MSE became the world's largest centrifuge manufacturer, receiving the Queens' Award for Enterprise in 1966.

Since the 1980s, it has focused on high-capacity centrifuge models.

In 2019, for Brexit-related economic reasons, MSE moved its operations to France, while maintaining its commitment to innovation in the industry.
